// what it is
A concept for Faro, a Mediterranean restaurant in the invented coastal town of Port Ellery, with an invented chef. Built to cover a vertical the rest of my work did not: food and hospitality.
// the problem
Restaurant sites usually fail at the only two things a hungry visitor wants — reading the actual menu, and getting a table. Both are routinely buried behind a PDF and a contact form.
// decisions
- 01
The menu is part of the site
Laid out as real content rather than linked as a PDF, so it reads on a phone one-handed and can be changed without a designer.
- 02
A reservation flow, not a contact form
Date, time, and party size are asked for up front, because those are the three facts that decide whether a booking is possible at all. A free-text 'message' field would just mean asking for them again by email.
